Mandela got military training from Israeli spying agency

Some days after Mandela’a death, unusual controversy surfaced when Israeli Mossad agents revealed that Mossad trained Nelson Mandela in combat, weaponry and sabotage in Ethiopia during 1962. The Nelson Mandela Foundation, however, denied such disclosure.

Surprisingly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among those head of states who did not attend last rite of anti-apartheid hero and former president Nelson Mandela held in December.

As per a document released by Israel’s state archives, Israeli Mossad agents operating in Ethiopia in 1962 gave combat training to Nelson Mandela.

A letter from a Mossad high-up to the foreign ministry, dated October 11, 1962 titled “THE BLACK PIMPERNEL” and made public recently talked about a conversation regarding a trainee in Ethiopia named David Mobasari, from Rhodesia”. Letter claimed that Nelson Mandela named as nickname “The Black Pimpernel” was given training by the Ethiopians in Judo, sabotage and weapons.

Mandela got marshal training when he was on run from white South Africa during the freedom struggle.

Letter further claimed “we tried to make him a Zionist.” Letter unfolded the fact which is yet to be proved that Mandela found an interest in the ways of the Hagana and Jewish militias that existed before Israel’s creation in 1948.

However, The Nelson Mandela Foundation refuted all fact discussed in letter that it had not found any evidence in Nelson Mandela’s private archive [which includes his 1962 diary and notebook] that he met with an Israeli operative during his trip of African countries.

Foundation argued “Mandela got military training from Algerian freedom fighters in Morocco and from the Ethiopian Riot Battalion at Kolfe outside the bounds of Addis Ababa, before going back to South Africa in July 1962.”
